Sam Denly reckons there are more twists and turns ahead in the race for the Ryman League, Division 1 South play-offs.

The top four, including Herne Bay all won at the weekend, while fifth-placed Hastings were the biggest movers, as five of the chasing pack all lost.

However, the Sussex side failed to close the gap on Bay to a single point on Tuesday night, letting an early 2-0 lead slip to only draw at Corinthian Casuals.

Boss Denly said: “A lot of teams are still in contention and that’s what makes it exciting.”

The Winch’s Field boss is preparing his side for one of their biggest games of their season at second-placed Dorking Wanderers on Saturday.

The Surrey side have made a big impact in their first season in the competition and are eyeing back-to-back promotions.

Denly said: “It’s going to be a massive test and tough against another good footballing side but we are on a good run ourselves and will go there full of confidence.”

Bay maintained their form with a 3-0 home win over strugglers Walton & Hersham on Saturday.

Denly added: “We were almost completely dominant in the game, our football, movement, possession and the chances we created."

Midfielder Dan Parkinson is available after completing a two-match ban, following his sending-off at Worthing last month.
