Sam Denly says places are still to be won with the Ryman League, Division 1 South kick-off just around the corner.
The Herne Bay boss said: “Shirts are up for grabs, a few players warrant one, but nobody has been outstanding.”
Bay host Lewisham Borough on Saturday in their final warm-up game before the opening day trip to Tooting & Mitcham.
Danny Walder converted two penalties in the 5-2 win over Ashford United at Winch’s Field on Saturday. Danny Williams, Stuart Zanone, playing against one of his old clubs, and Sam Hasler added the other goals.
Denly added: “It was a good test but I wasn’t happy at half-time.
“We were 3-2 up but I wasn’t overly impressed.
“The boys gave me a bit of a reaction in the second half and there were lots of positives by the end, but also things still to learn from.”
Gary Sayer is a doubt with a knee injury, picked up against Ashford, while skipper Liam Quinn and Sam Hallett are unavailable this weekend.
Denly is happy with his squad but won’t rule out adding to it.
He added: “Things are pretty settled. I am not looking to let anyone go.
“I might look to bring somebody else in but certainly not this side of the weekend."
