Boss Kevin Watson is optimistic he can help improve Herne Bay youngster Kymani Thomas.
Promising striker Thomas netted two fine first-half goals on Tuesday in Bay’s 2-2 Isthmian Premier draw at home to Billericay.
He’s now on six goals this season, with five of those efforts coming since Watson and assistant Adam Flanagan took over.
“Kymani was good,” said Watson. “I think, quite often, the limelight goes on the players that score.
“DJ [Dan Johnson] got man-of-the-match the other day and scored in the last couple of minutes of the game. With Kymani, it’s about us developing him as a player.
“Obviously it will attract attention when young players are scoring goals but I’m confident that, from us working with him over a sustained period of time, we can make Kymani a better player. We’ll nurture him.
“We have had those conversations, as we have with a few of the other players.
“There’s been some performances that have probably gone under the radar recently because we know the jobs we’re asking them to do - and they’re doing them very well.”
Midfielder David Ozobia and defender Emmanuel Martins have joined Bay, starting both of their last two matches.
Watson said: “David is another young lad in a similar mould of Kymani.
“The agreement with David is we work with him and improve him as a player. That’s the same with all the lads.
“Manny, who wasn’t getting much game time at his previous club, is getting the opportunity to have that here and taking that opportunity.”
Mason Saunders-Henry and Tushaun Tyreece-Walters also both remain at Winch’s Field on loan from Tonbridge and Maidstone, respectively.
“It was good for TT to get out there on Tuesday,” said Watson.
“He’s got some quality and needs to be on the pitch more.”
