Vote for your star man in KentOnline’s team of the week.
Congratulations to Hollands & Blair goalkeeper Jack Reeves, who won last week’s poll with a staggering 41 per cent after his Kent Senior Trophy penalty shoot-out exploits.
Have a look at today’s XI and pick your favourite at the bottom of the page – today’s poll even contains a bonus choice!
In goal we’ve got Sevenoaks Town keeper Jordan Perrin, who helped his side to a clean sheet against Erith Town in a goalless Isthmian South East clash, with one first-half save in particular worthy of recognition.
Teenage Herne Bay defender Jack Hillier made his first start in the 3-1 win at Phoenix Sports, having come off the bench to set up the winner last midweek on his first-team debut.
Folkestone Invicta’s Joel Odeniran helped his side to a 1-0 Isthmian Premier win at Canvey Island, earning praise from boss Andy Drury after being recalled from a dual-registration spell at Bay.
There’s an unexpected name completing our defenders as Connor Essam played for Faversham Town for the first time this season, helping out Tommy Warrilow’s men and ensuring they progressed in the FA Vase by helping them to a clean sheet.
The coolest man in Medway on Saturday afternoon was Tom Loynes as he stepped up to convert the winning spot-kick in Rochester’s penalty shoot-out win at higher-division Lordswood in the FA Vase. That wasn’t half of the story as Loynes’ side had trailed 3-0 at half-time before coming back to lead 4-3 in the second half, a late equaliser from the hosts taking the match to penalties.
Table-topping Dover are represented by midfielder Harrison Pont, who thumped home from 30 yards in their 4-2 Isthmian Premier win at home to Hashtag United.
There was a welcome away win for Welling United in National League South with Max Cornish providing an excellent display at the heart of their midfield at St Albans.
Billy Munday bagged a hat-trick for Deal Town as they won 4-3 at home to 10-man Merstham in Isthmian South East, marking his final game for the club before rejoining Ramsgate in style.
The standard was set quite high up front with three forwards all netting hat-tricks to claim their places.
Margate’s Ibrahim Olutade scored all three goals to take his season tally to 11 goals in total as they won 3-2 at Sheppey.
Mitchell May went one better, scoring four times to make it 14 for the campaign as Sittingbourne thrashed Hythe 6-0.
Freddie Parker of Cray Valley bagged a hat-trick as they won 3-2 at Bognor in Isthmian Premier to complete our line-up.
You can also vote for our manager this week, though, as we’ve picked a player-boss in Lydd’s interim manager Ryan Smith.
Sitting bottom of Southern Counties East Premier Division, Lydd put their league woes behind them in a 3-2 FA Vase win at Athletic Newham. Smith thought he’d won it when he put his side 2-1 up on 90 minutes, only for the hosts to equalise. So he struck again 11 minutes into stoppage time to avoid the need for penalties as Lydd booked their place in Monday’s draw.
If you see anyone who catches your eye this weekend, email your team of the week nominations to kmgsport@thekmgroup.co.uk and they might feature in our side.
