People in Kent are being given the chance to star in a new reality TV show - which it is understood will be filmed at a historic castle.
A casting call has opened for a role said to be linked to a new series at Lympne Castle near Hythe which has recently been taken over by celebrity owners.
Businesswoman and TV star Dr Ann Kaplan Mulholland snapped up the historic building with her husband Dr Stephen Mulholland for £5.5 million after it was put on the market for double that price.
The pair have a whole host of plans for the Grade I-listed venue and previously told KentOnline how they would like to film a new series which they hope will bring "positive attention" to the county.
Now casting company The Casting Unicorn has announced it is looking to fill a paid role for a “lady-in-waiting” for a new show being filmed in Lympne.
The company said: “We're casting this on-camera role for a new reality series.
“Please note that you must be Kent-based to apply.4
“You will assist the series star and help organise, prep for, and host events for guests.
“The Lady-In-Waiting may also assist with interior design duties.
“This role would be best suited to someone very outgoing with a strong hospitality or events background and an interest in interior design.”
A separate role for a footman was previously advertised but it is understood to have already been filled.
Due to the retirement of the former owner, the 700-year-old castle was put on the market for £11 million in 2021, but the sale was only finalised last February.
The venue hit the headlines in February last year when dozens of heartbroken couples were told their weddings had been cancelled.
It happened when the firm which previously ran weddings at the site emailed those set to marry to say their bookings had been scrapped following the sale, and they would be receiving a full refund.
But the Mulhollands said this should never have happened as they intended to honour "each and every wedding contract" and even gave those affected by the confusion a discount.
Since taking over, the couple have been working to carefully put their stamp on the wedding business while carrying out renovations and upgrades to the castle.
Dr Kaplan Mullholland is an entrepreneur, the founder of iFinance, author of four books, and a television host.
She also formerly starred in The Real Housewives of Toronto, having been married to her plastic surgeon husband for 22 years.
Between them they have eight children, and live in the affluent Bridle Path neighbourhood in the city.
To apply for the role, people are encouraged to email their name, location, and Instagram handle to Decky@thecastingunicorn.co.uk.
The casting agency, Dr Kaplan Mulholland and Lympne Castle were unable to confirm whether the lady-in-waiting and footman roles were linked to the proposed reality series at the historic landmark.
