The M20 was shut coastbound after nine people were injured in a car and minibus crash this morning.
The carriageway was closed between J10 for Ashford South and J11 for Hythe at 4.45am.
All eight occupants of the mini-bus were taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for treatment. Their injuries are thought to be minor.
The male driver of the car had to be cut free by firefighters. He suffered chest and leg injuries and was treated by ambulance crews.
Two fire engines, from Ashford and Folkestone had been called to help at the scene and were there for an hour.
The carriageway has now reopened after debris was cleared.
