A person has been taken to hospital after suffering burns and smoke inhalation in a house fire.
Crews in four fire engines were called to the scene in Grebe Crescent, Hythe, just before 7am today.
Teams wearing breathing apparatus used main and hose reel jets to douse the flames.
They remain at the scene and are continuing to damp down hotspots.
A fire service spokesman said: “One person went to hospital for suspected smoke inhalation and flash burns and the cause is unknown.”
People living or working in the area were initially warned to keep doors and windows closed due to smoke coming from the fire, but this advice was lifted at about 9am.
