The man behind the UK's number one fitness YouTube channel is over the moon after his first book made it onto a best sellers list.

Matt Morsia, from Hythe, released his book, The 24/7 Body, at the end of 2020.

It is now listed on the Sunday Times best sellers, reaching number six, for hardback non-fiction.

Matt, 34, took to Instagram to share his delight: "Just found out that The 24/7 Body is now a Sunday Times bestseller!

"As well as being absolute madness, this also means that I’m now a Sunday Times bestselling author (I’m laughing but I will be bringing this up at every single possible opportunity for the rest of my life)."

Matt left his PE teacher job at the Folkestone Academy after finding success on his MattDoesFitness channel, where he posts funny and informative videos, often featuring his son Luca and wife Sarah.

He has attempted some of the world's hardest, most extreme and unusual training and diet regimes, from the Rock's workout to the Navy Seals fitness test, plus a collaboration with former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall.

He has published more than 1,400 videos, mostly filmed in Kent.

It has earned him 271 million views on Youtube, plus 2m subscribers, and 961,000 Instagram followers.

The 24/7 Body includes Matt's own struggles that he’s faced on his path including missing out on being a triple jumper in the 2012 Olympics, struggling with an eating disorder and working all the hours in the day as a teacher, followed by an evening of filming fitness videos that would initially only get 50 views.

The book aims to "simplify all the confusing fitness messages" surrounding the industry and "empower everyone from your parents to your gym obsessed pals" to know what needs to be done to get a healthy body.

Speaking to KentOnline, Matt said he was inspired to write it for two reasons, one to help people reach their goals, and the other was to reach his own of actually writing a book.

He said: "To write the book was enough really, but now it is a bestseller too it is awesome.

"The reviews have been so good; I love reading them. It's so rewarding."
