Lightning strikes caused havoc in Shepway last night.
It caused fire at an electrical substation and houses were struck.
The incidents happened between 7.10pm to 9.15pm.
Crews fought a fire in an electrical substation at the Dollands Moor freight depot in Folkestone.
They also attended another incident at an isolation control building, used to control electrical flow on railways, at the railside at Sandling Road, Hythe.
Crews also rushed to two houses in Eversley Road, Seabrook, which were struck by lightning.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said that there were no signs of fire but wiring in both properties were affected.
Crews checked the houses and used ladders to make windows and roofing safe.
A spokesman for Folkestone Fire Station said: “There was damage to roofing and guttering and we put up sheeting for protection until repairs could be made next day.”
