Luxury accommodation Lion Lodge at Port Lympne opens this weekend

New overnight accommodation is opening at a wildlife park in Kent this weekend.
Lion Lodge is now welcoming guests at Port Lympne near Hythe.
The reserve's latest luxury overnight stay follows in the footsteps of similar animal encounters at the park, including Tiger Lodge, Bear Lodge and Wolf Lodge.
Considered to be the first of its kind worldwide, one night's stay will set you back £1200.
The lodges are timber clad, 'Manhattan loft' style buildings with floor to ceiling windows, bringing visitors face to face with the King of the Jungle.
The lodges named Kikuyu and Jibana look out into the lion’s natural and large habitat, with windows in both the master bedroom and the open plan living area.
The price of the retreat includes several benefits, including golf buggy hire, a full English breakfast and entrance to both Port Lympne and its sister park Howletts, as well as use of the WiFi.
It comes after radio DJ Greg James spent his honeymoon at the park on an overnight stay last year, while Giraffe Manor, a hotel where the tall mammals can peep through windows, is due to open at the site later this year.
