The coastbound exit slipway for the M20 Junction 11 (Hythe) is still closed, four days after it was shut because of an accident.
A lorry transporting pig carcases caused chaos on the roundabout after it overturned in the early hours of Friday November 29, and the exit way and roundabout have remained closed since then.
The incident saw the Belgian lorry, which was carrying around 24 tonnes of meat, spilled a large quantity of diesel across the roundabout.
A number of pig carcasses were also seen on the side of the road while recovery crews worked to right the vehicle.
Diesel can severely damage roads, and crews are working to resurface the tarmac around the roundabout.
Kent County Council (KCC) have confirmed that the roundabout and slipway will remain closed while resurfacing works take place.
However, it is believed that the road will be ready to reopen by this afternoon.
A KCC spokesman said: "The slip road is likely to be closed until the afternoon due to resurfacing works required.
"Following an RTC on Friday, the M20 J11 roundabout was closed at junction with B2068 Stone Street, due to a major diesel spillage and damage to road surface.
"From the South-bound A20, traffic will only be able to access Stop 24 Services and the M20 London Bound.
"There is no diversion for alternative routes available."
A spokesman for Highways England said: "Work has now started on resurfacing the road.
"We're aiming to have the work completed in time for rush hour this afternoon."
