Bosses at St Saviour's Hospital have confirmed the hospital will close next month.
Spire Healthcare, which runs the hospital, announced earlier this year it intended to close the site in Seabrook Road.
But it was revealed this week the hospital will definitely close by the end of September.
It is no longer accepting any new patients for treatment and is not guaranteeing insured patients will be able to receive surgery.
Only insured patient referrals for consultations are being accepted until Wednesday, September 2.
It also means 120 jobs are under threat after the company decided to close it because it would cost too much to upgrade it "in line with other hospitals".
"The hospital is expected to close sometime in September. Therefore, we are no longer taking new self-funding patient or NHS patient referrals." Spire Healthcare
A last-ditch effort had looked to have saved the private hospital from closure when it was revealed a bidder had come in to takeover.
But that deal collapsed in late July paving the way for the closure to go ahead.
A statement by Spire Healthcare said: "Spire is closing Spire St Saviour’s Hospital. The hospital is expected to close sometime in September.
"Therefore, we are no longer taking new self-funding patient or NHS patient referrals."
It then offers advice to patients saying: "Please contact your consultant to discuss alternative options.
"Please remember to contact your insurer to ensure you obtain any necessary approvals for alternative arrangements.
"If you have planned treatment at St Saviour’s Hospital in or after August, then you will receive a letter shortly with more details on how this may affect you and the plans we have in place ensure the continuity of your care."
A consultation has been ongoing with staff members ranging from nurses, radiographers, consultants and administrators, housekeepers and porters about their futures.
Just last year the hospital marked its 50th birthday.
