Hythe Pool is among the victims of Storm Angus after heavy winds ripped away part of its roof.
Firefighters were called to the public swimming pool in South Road at around 7.30am today.
They made the scene safe by taping off the area, and advised nearby residents to stay in their homes while the winds continued.
A KFRS spokesman said: "All down wind residents should stay in their homes over the next couple of hours while the heavy winds continue due to the risk of more of the roof blowing off."
Shepway District Council has announced that the pool is shut until further notice.
South Road was closed until 1pm for safety reasons.
