Hythe Swimming Pool in South Road shut after break-in

A swimming pool was closed this morning following a break-in overnight.
Hythe Swimming Pool in South Road shut temporarily as officers probe the scene after equipment was stolen.
Folkestone and Hythe District Council explained in a tweet: “This is to allow Kent Police to complete its investigations and for the building to be secured..”
The council later explained to KentOnline that damage in the raid was minimal and the pool was likely to reopen later today
A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 7.37am today to a report that an address in South Road, Hythe had been broken into and equipment stolen.
“Officers from Folkestone and Hythe’s Community Safety Unit attended and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.”
