A teenager has been praised after saving a baby who fell into a canal.
The quick-thinking hero leapt in after the baby's pram rolled into the water in Hythe.
It is believed that the Saturday night drama came after the pram unexpectedly rolled away from the baby's mother, who was also caring for a puppy at the time.
The 16-year-old jumped into the canal to fish out the pram and the seven-week-old child.
A post about the incident was widely shared on Facebook and Twitter, with many praising the young hero.
A Hythe resident said: "Wow, what a brave and heroic thing to do, [he] saved a baby’s life without thinking, I pray that all are ok and the poor baby got some medical attention and also some support for the mum, such a trauma for everyone."
Another commenter said: "What a wonderful young man to rescue that baby with no thought for himself. There are still some lovely young people out there."
