A woman was crushed between two cars after one rolled back, leaving her trapped.

Paramedics raced to the incident outside the Lympne Village Stores this morning after the victim was pinned down by the cars.

She was taken to hospital suffering from pelvic injuries after the incident at 10am.

The incident happened outside the village shop and post office in Honeywood Close in Lympne, near Hythe.

It involved two cars - a Volkswagen and a BMW - and the pedestrian.

Ambulance service spokesman Rich Airey said: "It was described that a patient was trapped between two cars.

"One had rolled back and trapped them between them.

"An ambulance crew attended but just prior to our arrival she was freed and the patient was treated at the scene for pelvic pain. They applied splints for pelvic injuries.

"It was a female patient and she was taken to William Harvey Hospital.

"It is reported that the handbrake was not applied and it rolled back."

A fire engine was also at the scene and police were called.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a report of a two car collision in Honeywood Close, Lympne, involving a VW Polo, a BMW and a female pedestrian.

"The pedestrian was taken to the William Harvey Hospital."
