He started his career at Gillingham and went on to play for Margate, Herne Bay, Folkestone, Faversham and Whitstable before joining Ashford in November 2014.

Hythe manager Clive Cook said: "Darren is someone I have been looking at for quite some time and I’m over the moon to have signed such a quality footballer for Hythe Town Football Club.

"He scores and creates goals which is a massive asset for us to have from his position, but also he comes with a first class attitude and I can’t wait to work with him."

Hythe's next league game isn't until November 21 so Marsden will have to wait a little while for his competitive debut, although he's likely to feature for Town in their friendly against Maidstone at Reachfields next Monday.
