Sam Denly has resigned as manager of Hythe Town.
His departure comes just hours after the Cannons were thrashed 7-1 by Kent rivals Faversham.
Hythe have lost five of their six matches this season, conceding 21 goals in the process.
A club statement said: "Sam has been a very popular and friendly face around Reachfields since his appointment in 2017 and none of us wanted this time to arrive.
"Those wishing to be considered for the vacancy should forward their names in confidence to the secretary by e-mail at martinandsuegiles@gmail.com by 10pm on Friday, September 6.
"Shortlisted applicants will then be advised on Saturday and should then be able to attend an interview process at a designated local place and time on Sunday, September 8."
Hythe failed to make the Isthmian South East play-offs last season, finishing seventh for the third year running.
Denly took over from Clive Cook in January 2018 and led the team on a superb run which almost saw them sneak into the top five.
But a goal in the 90th minute of the final match of the season denied them a play-off place.
Speaking before the Faversham game, he said: "There’s obviously pressure there. I put pressure on myself but you’ve got to have faith in the boys you’ve got.
"If I need to change it and bring different personnel in, I will do that. Hopefully we can work on it and get things right.
“There’s pressure, I know that. There should be pressure as well because we all want to compete.
“It’s not been the start we wanted but we’re four games in, not 24.”
Denly's departure comes less than 24 hours after Jamie Coyle and Adam Flanagan left Dartford by mutual consent after a poor run of results in National League South.
