Ashley Miller has left Folkestone Invicta to re-join their local rivals Hythe Town.
The former Gills forward was offered a new deal at the Fullicks Stadium but has chosen to make the move across Shepway.
Hythe have paid a small fee for Miller, who left them to join Invicta back in January 2015.
Hythe boss Clive Cook said: "I've been after Ash for quite a while but he was under contract at Folkestone.
"I was straight on it after the end of the season. He said he wasn't going to stay at Folkestone.
"I think he lost his mojo a little bit because he wasn't getting enough playing time so our job is to get his mojo back.
"I'm pretty sure he's excited about coming back and feels there's a little bit of a point to prove.
"He's a very good footballer and he fits what we're trying to do.
"It was a no-brainer when the opportunity came up."
