Two of Kent’s form teams clash this weekend when resurgent Hythe entertain promotion-chasing Faversham.
Only one team in Ryman League Division 1 South has a better recent record than Hythe, who have won six of their last eight league games.
But on Saturday the Cannons face arguably their toughest test so far under new manager Clive Cook when they host a Faversham side whose eight-match unbeaten run has carried them into the play-off places.
Cook said: "We’ve won seven of our last eight (including a friendly) and only let in two goals. Our defence is top-drawer, they score goals and we score goals.
"We know they’ve got a couple of weaknesses we can exploit and we’ll work on them in training this week.
"I’m expecting a good game, one of the better games this season. They’re beatable and I’m looking forward to it.
"I’m excited about the game because they play football the right way. Ray Turner and Clive Walker always set their side up to play attractive football.
"We’re bang in form and they’re bang in form so on paper, it’s exciting. It should be a good game and I’m looking forward to it.
"Sometimes it can work the other way and you cancel each other out but we’ll take it by the scruff of the neck. If we win ugly, that’s the way it goes.
"We’ve got a good squad at the moment and the atmosphere’s fantastic."
