Advice for landlords on credit crunch
09:58, 12 November 2008
LANDLORDS in north Kent can pick up advice on how to battle the economic downturn at a special networking forum.
The event, being held on Wednesday, November 19, is open to all landlords with properties in Dartford and Gravesham and will cover topics like housing benefits, leasing schemes and multiple occupation.
Housing specialists from both borough councils will be present, as will Marion Money, regional representative for the Nation Landlords Association, who will give a presentation.
Pat Coleman, portfolio holder for housing at Dartford council, said: “There’s been a large increase in the number of private landlords in recent years yet many won’t have the experience or knowledge to be able to cope with the current economic downturn.
“Our specialist team can help landlords to meet the existing challenge and to help us to meet local housing demand.”
The forum will also include energy efficiency advice and information about local grants.
The forum, which takes place at the Civic Centre, in Home Gardens, Dartford, starts at 5pm. Interested landlords should call 01322 343216 or email privatsectorhousing@dartford.gov.uk
