A printer and document company has expanded further into Europe after taking over a German firm for an undisclosed sum.
Apogee Corporation, based in Maidstone, has bought print manufacturer and service provider Kopiervertrieb Rhein-Ruhr GmbH based in Oberhausen near Düsseldorf.
Its new acquisition is expected to make sales of €4 million this year and was founded in 2012 by managing director Bernd Ruse and three others.
Apogee, which is backed by private equity investors Equistone Partners Europe, is already Europe’s largest independent provider of print and document services.
It has been on an acquisition spree of late, having already completed takeovers of Clarke Office Solutions and Danwood this year.
It is its sixth deal since it secured a “significant investment” from Equistone in September 2016.
Joint chief executive Jason Collins said: “We already have an operation to the north in Hanover and KRR is ideally located in the heart of western Germany.
“Together as part of the Apogee group they will give us great coverage in Germany and a strong hub from which we can continue to grow our operations across Europe.”
Mr Ruse added: “This is a very exciting time for all of us at KRR.
“Now as we win larger and larger contracts, the support, expertise and sheer scale of resources available within Apogee will make a massive difference, helping us deliver a great experience to our clients and continue to grow the business across Germany.”
