A plastering apprentice has been named a winner at the Young Tradesperson of the Year competition.
Kieron Smith from Faversham was crowned best young apprentice for his work at ID Smith Construction Services, also based in the town.
“I didn’t expect to be chosen as a winner but it really is a great feeling,” said the 21-year-old former Abbey School pupil.
“It shows that the long days and hard work does pay off.
“Hearing the stories about what the other nominees have achieved was amazing, and it’s clear to see that there is real talent among our generation.”
Mr Smith won VIP gig tickets and £250 to spend at timber and building supplier Jewson, which hosted the awards in Birmingham on April 28.
