Shopping complex Bluewater has confirmed its Christmas opening hours - and confirmed a number of pop-up stores opening up for the festive season.

The Greenhithe site will be open from 9am until 10pm between Monday to Saturday in the week leading up to Christmas, with those still searching for presents able to shop until 6pm on Christmas Eve.

Closed on Christmas Day, it will then reopen for 11am until 5pm on Boxing Day and from 9am-10pm between December 27-30 as shoppers head to the sales.

However, many of the bigger retailers at the site - including the likes of Primark, John Lewis, House of Fraser, Boots and M&S - may have extended hours during the busiest days. These are still to be confirmed.

In addition, a number of pop-up stores will be open to shoppers.

These include Christmas Magic and Xmas Castle, selling decorations, Calendar Club offering, as the name suggests, calendars, diaries and stationery, and Marden-based Anno Distillery selling its range of gin, whisky and vodka.

For the first time this Christmas, Bluewater will also host The Pop-Up Club’s collection of independent businesses selling a host of items.

Produced in Kent, which champions local food and drink producers, also have a pop-up store.

And to help shoppers get into the spirit of the season, primary school choirs will be performing every Tuesday and Thursday from now until December 14 between 11am and 4pm.

Robert Goodman, senior centre director at Bluewater, said: “We are delighted to offer guests a variety of festive pop-up stores this year, which they can browse for longer with our extended Christmas opening hours.

"We’re looking forward to welcoming the local primary school choirs and know they will spread some festive cheer, which we truly missed last Christmas.”
