Faversham's Shepherd Neame has signed a partnership deal with this month's Black Deer Festival.

The three-day Americana music extravaganza in Eridge Park, near Tunbridge Wells, will see the firm join the line-up as 'official brewery partner'.

Black Deer runs between June 17-19 and is headlined by the likes of The Waterboys, James and Van Morrison.

The deal with the brewery will see three of Shepherd Neame's cask ales available to concert-goers, as well as a limited edition Black Deer Lag and its Bear Island brand.

Shepherd Neame marketing manager Louise Buet said: “We are proud to partner with this year’s Black Deer Festival, which aligns particularly well with the values of independence and adventure encapsulated in our Bear Island brand."

The news comes just days after it confirmed it will once again be an official supplier to golf's The Open, taking place at St Andrews in Scotland this summer.

Spectators will be able to buy its beers and ciders at the bard at the Old Course.

It is the second year in a row Shepherd Neame has partnered with the tournament - which was last year held at Royal St George's in Sandwich.

John Espley, director of commercial partnerships at tournament organisers, The R&A, said: “Shepherd Neame has a long and cherished history as Britain’s oldest brewer and is renowned for producing award-winning beers from its home in Kent. We look forward to working with them once again to offer our fans and guests a range of high quality British-crafted products at the championship this year.”
