Chef Dev Biswal of The Cook's Tale in Canterbury (formerly The Ambrette) launches cookery classes and international culinary trips

An award-winning chef is launching a series of cookery master classes - both at home and abroad.
Dev Biswal runs the Cook's Tale restaurant in Canterbury - recently rebranded after being known for many years as The Ambrette.
Now he is planning a series of special cookery classes at the venue.
And for those wishing to go further afield, he has a series of week-long culinary trips starting at the end of October.
The first of the Cook's Holidays will head to Dubrovnik in Croatia, with future trips planned of the Bay of Bengal, in the chef's native India, Morocco, Germany and Italy.
Dev Biswal had been in the process of setting up the international jaunts prior to the pandemic which slammed the brakes on international travel.
The first three cookery classes in Canterbury will cover vegetarian and vegan food; seafood; and game.
Each will last three hours. Additional masterclasses, lasting five hours, for more advanced budding chefs, are also planned.
Those taking part will prepare a three-course meal before dining together.
The new experiences come as the business refocuses following the pandemic.
Outlets in Margate and Rye have been been shut, allowing the focus to fall on the rebranded Canterbury eatery.
The chef explained: "The pandemic was tough both professionally and personally – as it was for everyone, especially restaurateurs – but lockdown presented me with the opportunity to reappraise my ambitions and work/life balance choices.
“I always enjoyed giving cookery classes – but didn’t have time when running three restaurants and the concept of hosting gastro tours has been a long-held dream.”
The international trip prices start at £2,300 per person of £4,000 for a couple.
The Canterbury cookery classes start at £85 per person.
