A panel of experts will be fielding questions over new legal requirements once the Brexit transition period ends on a special webinar this week.
Taking place on Wednesday, December 23, via Zoom, the Trading with the EU: Last Chance Q&A event will feature representatives from Kent County Council Trading Standards, the Department for International Trade, the Invicta Chamber of Commerce and the Kent & Medway Growth Hub.
Those signing-up will be able to ask last-minute questions to help pave the way for businesses to clarify any outstanding issues ahead of the new regulations which will come into force from January 1.
Key issues will look at how goods that fail to comply with the new rules will be refused entry to the EU leaving firms liable for costs of examination, storage and re-working, while non-delivery of goods may lead to breach of contract, loss of trading partners and both financial and reputational harm.
The expert panel will feature...
- Food & Drink: Principal Trading Standards officer Nathan Martin, Kent County Council
- Consumer Goods: Trading Standards officer Claire Robinson, Kent County Council
- International Trade Advisor: Richard Bond, Department for International Trade
- International Trade Advisor: Graham Card, Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce
The panel will be chaired by Tudor Price of the Kent and Medway Growth Hub
The event runs from 1-2pm on Wednesday, December 23.
Those unable to make the date can still sign up and submit a question.
A recording will be made of the event and a link to the replay will be sent to those registered once available.
