Visit Kent picks up Best UK Destination for Groups at Group Travel Awards 2019

The county has won another major award for its tourism offering.

Tourism agency Visit Kent collected the award for Best UK Destination for Groups at the 2019 Group Travel Awards at a gala presentation in London.

The awards were voted for by readers of GTO (Group Travel Organiser) magazine and industry newsletter the Group Travel Grapevine.

It won a category which included Bournemouth, Canterbury, the Isle of Wight, Liverpool, Bristol London and Manchester. Bristol was runner-up.

Alanna Kite, Visit Kent’s destination manager for partnerships and travel trade, said: “This award is testament to the amazing attractions, accommodation and destinations that welcome thousands of groups of all ages and sizes throughout the year, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their continued support.

"We look forward to inspiring many more domestic and international groups to visit the Garden of England in the future and having the chance to showcase our top quality tourism offer throughout the county - all just a stone’s throw from London and the Continent.”

Other awards on the night included Best University Accommodation which was awarded to the University of Kent and Best Family Day Out given to the Warner Bros Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.
