Eurotunnel smashes June record for freight traffic

Eurotunnel says it recorded the highest freight traffic in its history for June on its Le Shuttle service.
It delivers back-to-back record-breaking traffic after bumper May figures.
It saw 142,016 trucks transported last month - beating the previous record established in June 2016.
It has contributed to a record first half of the year, transporting 845,000 trucks since January 1.
Le Shuttle passenger traffic in June increased 4% compared to June 2017 with 239,935 passenger vehicles transported.
Since the start of January 2018, nearly 1.2 million passenger vehicles have crossed with Le Shuttle.
The group’s half-year results will be published on Wednesday July 25.
