Infrastructure company FM Conway has bought a manufacturer and supplier of bitumen and asphalt.
The Sevenoaks-based business has taken over Berkshire Macadam which operates two asphalt plants at Reading and Aldershot.
The new acquisitions, which produce 80,000 tonnes a year, add to its plants in Erith and Heathrow, which supply highways and local roads across the UK.
FM Conway chief executive Michael Conway said: “These two new plants will build on the success of our Erith and Heathrow facilities which have set a benchmark for asphalt recycling, ensuring that our clients can leverage the environmental and economic benefits which come from resource efficiency.”
