A major, free event focused on construction design, build and product innovation is set to take place in Kent in early October.
Kent Construction Expo is the South East’s leading construction event and will return on Thursday, October 3 at the Kent Event Centre in Detling, bringing together over 2,000 construction professionals, contractors, developers and specialist suppliers.
Kent Construction Expo is backed by Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Kent County Council and Medway Council, and is an annual gathering specifically for those involved in the construction industry.
A networking breakfast - between 7:30am and 9am - will precede the exhibition which will get underway between 9am and 4pm. The gala dinner reception starts at 5:30pm with dinner served at 6:30pm.
Kent Construction Expo’s practical workshops will provide visitors with fresh insights into current construction industry challenges and opportunities on the horizon along with emerging technologies, practices and innovations.
There is also a brilliant opportunity for attendees to make valuable new contacts and build their businesses via the unique Meet The Buyer feature, while the roundtable stream provides a focussed platform for discussion where visitors will have the opportunity to hear different perspectives from their peers, share new ideas and learn from each other’s experiences.
Some of the fascinating topics covered by this year’s free seminar programme include future technology and innovation in the industry, women in construction, skills shortages and collaboration in construction.
In his opening keynote, award-winning architect, broadcaster and academic Piers Taylor will be challenging visitors to consider the key issues facing the construction industry over the next two decades.

Like most industries, gender diversity continues to be a key discussion with Cheryl Causebrook, who is Chair of Constructing Excellence Kent Club and a prime example of a woman defying the odds to achieve success in a traditionally male-dominated profession.
