Staff at HolidayExtras.com are celebrating a record number of bookings in one day.
The Hythe-based travel add-ons firm had its most successful day ever with 12,000 bookings on Monday, August 2, a five per cent increase on its previous best last August.
The good news is in sharp contrast to the £1 millon pay-out the company had to make during the volcanic ash crisis earlier this year.
HolidayExtras.com is the UK's leader in add-ons such as airport parking, airport hotels, airport lounges and travel insurance.
Chief executive Matthew Pack said: "August is always one of our busiest periods, but this is phenomenal.
"We attribute it to a number of factors; the quality, price and increasing breadth of our product range, the speed and strength of our newly improved agents' site, working closely with many new partners, integration and our unshakable reputation for service."
Insurance sales in particular have performed very strongly. Policy issues are up more than 120 per cent year on year.
Award-winning HolidayExtras.com has seen a six per cent increase in hotel and parking bookings since June - welcome news to the company, which paid out around £1 million during the volcanic ash crisis in April.
Mr Pack added: "Not only are we well on our way to making up the shortfall due to the volcanic ash cloud, but it seems that our approach to supporting customers and partners is resulting in an expanding market share and customer base."
HolidayExtras.com won the Customer Service and Commitment category in July's Kent Excellence in Business Awards (KEiBA).
