An IT support business has been snapped up by a Harvard graduate after bosses put the company up for sale.
Allteks, which serves about 100 clients from its offices in Turkey Mill, Maidstone, has been acquired for an undisclosed sum by Conehill Limited, an investment vehicle run by private investor Toyin Aromire.
The 15-year-old firm provides online backup services for companies in the marine, construction, pharmaceutical, recruitment, publishing, energy and manufacturing sectors.
Its shareholders approached KBS Corporate to sell the company so they could pursue different interests.
Allteks’ technical director Ian Butcher will remain with the business to ensure a smooth transition to the new owner.
Harvard University graduate Mr Aromire has become Alltek’s chief executive and wants to grow the firm as a “personal business venture”.
He is a former service designer for Vodafone and and business analyst consultant for Talk Talk.
He also co-founded a marketing website last year which connects business consultants to employers.
More than 30 parties showed an interest in Allteks, leading to four formal offers.
KBS Corporate deal executive Fabio Rambelli said: “The marketing of Allteks was extremely successful.
“I believe that Allteks accepted the most competitive offer available, allowing Ian Butcher to continue working within the business and driving its growth.
“Allteks is in great hands with Ian and the new owners.”
