You’ve heard of fashion boutiques and boutique hotels. Now Kent is to have a first ... a coffee boutique.
Nespresso, the luxury coffee and espresso brand, is to open the south east’s first coffee boutique at Bluewater.
A spokesman for Land Securities, which runs the shopping centre, said the new venture was one of only a handful of coffee boutigues in the UK.
The 3,000 sq ft store is located on Bluewater’s Upper Guildhall, adjacent to Apple, White Stuff and The White Company. It opens in November.
Until the new store opens, Nespresso is running a pop-up store in the Lower Rose Gallery.
The Bluewater Nespresso will introduce a new store design for the brand and will showcase Nespresso’s 23 Grand Cru blends, named after the term given to fine wine regions in France.
The store will also include tasting areas and the full range of Nespresso products. The new concept will be implemented at future Nespresso stores following its debut at Bluewater.
Russell Loveland, portfolio director at Land Securities, said: “Nespresso joins a growing number of premium brands, including Jo Malone, Mont Blanc and Breitling, in selecting Bluewater to create an exciting new store. “
Mr Loveland added that the launch of the coffee boutique was “consistent with our focus on creating a series of statement stores.”
It was, he said, further reinforcement of Bluewater’s status as the destination of choice for international brands seeking a significant presence in the UK.
In the last six months, Bluewater has added significantly to its retail offer, including new stores for Breitling and Hackett London, the launch of a new concept store for schuh, and the upsizing of Next into a 44,000 sq ft regional flagship.
