Two hundred extra HGV parking spaces will be available to hauliers when the first phase of a revamped truckstop opens next month.
Construction work on increasing capacity and facilities at the Ashford International Truckstop began in September.
And on April 1, there will be 500 lorry spaces - rising to 660 when the new site is completed.
Darren Smith, general manager at Ashford International Truckstop, said: “The kind winter weather has seen construction progress at pace on our new site.
“With 200 spaces ready for use and with the continuing concerns over congestion caused by Brexit delays at the Channel ports, we feel it is important to bring them on stream as soon as possible.
“While work on the site continues, drivers using the new spaces will be provided with a shuttle bus service to the existing reception building. The new spaces will be fully secure, with CCTV and 24-hour on-site security.”
The new 660 HGV capacity truckstop is due to be fully open by December.
It is the first stage of the 140-acre Waterbrook site, which will include 400 new homes, new commercial property creating nearly 1,000 jobs, shops, restaurants and parkland being developed by GSE Group.
