Family-owned haulage firm MJD Group increased turnover by 13% to £12.2 million last year, its latest accounts show.
The Swanscombe-based company made a “modest” pre-tax profit of £94,000 – an increase of 20% – in the 12 months to the end of September 2016.
In her company report, director Patricia Dole said a “slight downturn in profit” was due to increases in staff and subcontractor costs not passed on to customers.
She added: “The directors view the financial position of the company as satisfactory and are confident that given the right economic conditions the results will continue for the foreseeable future.”
The business, which employs about 45 people, was founded by Michael John Dole as M.J.Dole Transport in 1969 and later became M.J.D. & Sons International.
It also has a warehouse in Littlebrook, Dartford.
