09:47, 30 April 2013
Visit Kent, the tourism promotion agency, has unveiled a new website to
showcase the county's many attractions.
Visitors to Kent 2020 Vision LIVE at the Kent Showground were among the first business people to take a close look at www.visitkent.co.uk
It is designed to provide visitors and residents alike with the information they need about a day out, short break or longer holiday.
It features details of more than 600 places to stay, 450 things to do, ranging from meals using Kent produce to tourism destinations and experiences, and 450 events.
Lynnette Crisp, head of marketing at Visit Kent, said: "Our website is our shop window for the world to see and it is important it really does justice to our incredible county – its stunning coast and countryside, its historic cities and towns and all the great attractions to visit, restaurants to enjoy and wide range of places to stay."
She added: "We want to raise awareness of all the opportunities being created by our many, diverse tourism, leisure and hospitality businesses."
The website has multi-screen adaptability designed to work on mobile phones, tablets and desk-top computers.
The content links attractions, events and accommodation and integrates with social media to feature the latest information and news flashes.
