Salomons Estate near Tunbridge Wells opens office space for businesses

00:01, 06 September 2017

A Grade II listed Victorian country manor has become a new home for businesses in the county.

Salomons Estate near Tunbridge Wells has converted some of its rooms into 12 offices.

Bosses at Sevenoaks-based Markerstudy Leisure, which owns the site, said the 2,145sq ft of space will help combat the falling availability of commercial property for companies to operate from in the county.

A number of office buildings in and around Tunbridge Wells are being converted for residential use, including the former NPI offices Calverley House, which did have space for 60 businesses and will become 114 flats.

Markerstudy chief operating officer Andrew Daniells said: “Many small businesses in the town have been hit by landlords converting office space back to residential.

“We wanted to do our bit to ensure companies can remain local.

“Businesses will have access to the grounds, a staffed reception to welcome their guests, and ample free parking.”

Companies moving in on six to 12-month leases will pay all-inclusive rents covering business rates, WiFi, service charge, heating and electricity.
