Kite Packaging buys Sittingbourne-based Burnhead Packaging Supplies
00:00, 19 February 2015
A packaging supplier has made its “largest acquisition to date” after buying a distributor in Kent for an undisclosed amount.
The 11 staff at Sittingbourne-based Burnhead Packaging Supplies will now become employees of Kite after the Coventry-based firm bought the freehold for its base.
Burnhead, which has a turnover of £4 million a year, will be overseen by Kite managing partner Paul Mustard, who is responsible for the company’s South East branches, including a new operation set up in Maidstone last year.
The company will be rebranded as Burnhead Packaging Supplies, a Division of Kite Packaging.
Mr Mustard said: “We are really pleased to announce the acquisition of Burnhead, our largest acquisition to date.
“The Sittingbourne site will become central to our partnership in Kent and nearby areas.
“We are looking forward to welcoming new local business customers on-board, and aim to grow turnover significantly, affirming Burnhead’s position as the leading packaging supplier in the region.”
Kite is the UK’s largest employee-owned packaging distributor.
