It’s been a challenging last couple of years for the Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant on the Dover esplanade but things are finally looking up for the popular South East coast eatery.

With works still underway for the new town pier which is set to open in 2019, it has been far from plain sailing for business at the nearby Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant.

The new marina, next to the pier, remains on schedule to be opened in the last quarter of 2019 and will include 250 berths for vessels up to 18 metres, pontoons, an access bridge, fuel tanks and pumps and a bridge for the new boatyard.

But with the £250 million Western Docks Revival Scheme finally close to completion and with the refurbishment phase at the restaurant having recently finished, there is plenty to smile about for staff with summer on the way.

“We’re absolutely delighted with new the refurbishment at the restaurant” said Hythe Bay Seafood Restaurant’s Kent-born owner Turrloo Parrett.

“The last two years have been quite difficult particularly with the ongoing construction nearby with the docks and the bridge.

“But things are looking up again. We can certainly see brighter days ahead so there is a lot to look forward for our business and many others in the area.”

Well-known businessman Turrloo Parrett, who is also known for establishing the Eastwell Manor Country House and Spa at Ashford, also owns two more five-star restaurants of the same name in Hythe and Deal.

At the start of their visit, diners receive complimentary warm freshly-baked rolls and smoked mackerel pate.

“Our motto is ‘quality not compromise’,” continued Turrloo Parrett.

“All three restaurants maybe different but they share one common value in which diners are all offered a warm welcome, fantastic and professional service alongside quality food and drink.

“Our location in Dover is also great. We’re right on the beach and the view out onto the channel is spectacular.”
