A rental business with an outlet in Kent has gone into administration.

The recession has been blamed for the financial difficulties of Access Rentals, which has nine branches nationwide, including Mill Place, Platt Industrial Estate, St Mary’s Platt, Wrotham.

But the business is continuing to trade and administrators at KPMG hope to find a buyer to maintain it as a going concern.

Andy McGill, restructuring director with KPMG, said: "As a supplier of specialist equipment to industries including the construction sector, Access Rentals has been hit hard by the economic downturn. We are continuing to trade all nine branches of the company and are actively seeking a buyer."

Access Rentals is based in Telford and has a workforce of 80. No redundancies have yet been made and all branches remain open.

The business hires out specialist equipment such as articulated booms, telescopic booms, scissor lifts and vertical masts.
