Swiss role for Kent
11:29, 11 August 2011
A Kent company has been awarded a prestigious contract to supply office equipment to the Swiss HQ of an international organisation.
The Glass Wipe Board Co, based at Lympne, near Hythe, has been trying hard to develop international markets for its eco-friendly products.
It has been busy promoting and marketing its "green" credentials abroad and recently joined UK Trade and Investment, the government body which promotes exports.
The company's bosses were delighted when they heard they had landed a contract to supply 55 of their glass marker boards for the newly-renovated offices of the "Federation Equestre Internationale's (FEI) headquarters in Lausanne.
The FEI is the world-governing body for equestrian sport.
Although the value of the contract has not been disclosed, the deal is an important export breakthrough for the Glass Wipe Board Co, whose glass marker boards are 99% recyclable.
They are also hygenic and superior to the more traditional white boards and were considered ideal for the FEI HQ, which were rebuilt to a demanding Swiss environmental standard.
