All its employees will remain in the new group, which will have 210 staff including 150 engineers, analysts and consultants.

Founded in 1992, SecureData has about 1,000 customers and made revenues of nearly £50 million.

Executive chairman Ian Brown said: “The enhanced group is now clearly positioned as one of the leading independent cybersecurity services businesses throughout the UK and selected overseas markets.

“The group is well positioned to provide business customers with a one stop shop service for all their cybersecurity needs.

“In a world where the security threats to businesses are increasing almost daily, having a trusted cybersecurity partner is becoming a critical board room issue.”

Cygnia managing director Jon Busfield said combining the firms is “great news for our existing customers, partners and people”.
