Ashford College has seen thousands of people through its doors, each leaving with new knowledge and great memories.
With experienced lecturers and dedicated staff, the college has built a reputation as a fantastic provider of vocational and creative education. Plus, thanks to the work of the Students’ Union and Student Experience team, Ashford College’s learners have access to amazing experiences and a strong support network.
A raft of trips and activities are organised for college-goers every year, with group excursions including trips to Thorpe Park, football matches and the Harry Potter studio tour.
Special events are also hosted by the college, with students encouraged to get involved in planning and running them as well.
This included a ‘Celebration of Cultures’ day which saw food, music and dance from across the world on display.
A stone’s throw from the high street, learners also get to enjoy the town’s wide variety of food and shopping options in their free time. Ashford College is also close to a number of parks, where students can relax in the sun with friends or have a picnic.
In the classroom, the environment is more relaxed than at school, offering lectures that suit students’ individual learning styles. Lecturers have skills honed in industry, and all students are taught using industry standard equipment. All this ensures leavers have all the skills needed to make their way into their chosen field.
Ashford College also has outstanding links with businesses in the local area. These connections provide unique opportunities to get work experience and apprenticeships with companies relevant to students’ chosen careers. Employers also come in to give talks and do Q&As with learners, giving them invaluable advice on how to succeed in the future.
Those thinking of joining the college have a lot of options in terms of what to study. Art, Music, Computing and Early Years are just some of the subjects students can choose when they join. The college’s website has a handy tool which people can use to highlight their interests, with the website then pointing out courses that fit the selection.
Just like its iconic façade, students will stand out after completing either a BTEC or T Level at Ashford College. Its mission is to create people who will have the skills they need to step into a job straight after graduating, and with the additional employability skills training on offer, that mission becomes all the more easy to achieve.
The college has already seen great success in reaching this goal, and is there to help as many people find their future as possible. If you want to get ahead in life, click here.
