Gusbourne named English Wine Producer of the Year

Gusbourne vineyard has another gong to add to its list of honours.
The estate in Appledore has been named English Wine Producer of the Year at the International Wine and Spirit Competition.
The first vineyards were planted on the site by chairman Andrew Weeber in 2004 and now has 61 hectares across Kent and 32 across West Sussex.
They are planted with classic Champagne varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
Its latest trophy completes a successful year, having received seven gold medals.
Chief executive Ben Walgate said: “Receiving this trophy is a very proud moment for the Gusbourne team and is yet another highlight in what has been an extraordinary year for us.”
