A business committed to supporting good causes will again be hosting a thrilling charity challenge in south east Kent.
For the fourth year running Folkestone Racecourse will be the venue for the KM Charity Team’s popular zip wire event on Saturday, March 20.
Participants get the chance to whiz down a cable from the TV gantry on the roof of the main stand and hurtle 150 yards to the ground.
Charity Team chairman Simon Dolby said: "As a venue the Folkestone Racecourse really works for us.
"We have a high level of interest as there is no place like it in Kent and the thrill of descending from a height onto a racecourse is unique.
"People are attracted not just by the thrill of the zip wire and the fact that excellent causes will benefit from the proceeds, but also by the glamour of the place and its sporting history."
Last year’s event raised £5,260 for the Pilgrims Hospices and £2,254 for the KM Charity Team, which will both benefit from the latest event.
Racecourse manager Emma Santer said they are always keen to back the community.
She said: "As the only racecourse in Kent we like to do our bit to support local good causes and we know that charities are struggling to maintain their income during the economic slowdown and want to do what we can to help."
The Folkestone racecourse offers facilities for conferences, team-building days, exhibitions and corporate events.

The zip wire is being sponsored by Bouverie Place shopping centre in Folkestone and to take part participants must raise a minimum of £75 in sponsorship.
