A RETIRED secretary from Kent has been chosen to star in the new Sheilas’ Wheels television advert to be aired on May 22.

Mrs Watts, 64, who lives in West Kingsdown, near Swanley, was one of 30 lucky winners from 11,500 entrants after she sent in her photograph and the message, “Make me a Sheila Star because if I don’t reach stardom now I never will.”

Asia Manzoor, spokeswoman for the colourful car insurance firm, said: “Linda’s 'Sheila-factor’ shone through at the 'Make Me A Sheila Star’ auditions to secure her seat in the big pink Sheilamobile.”

Mrs Watts said: “I will never criticise anyone on television who tries to sing and dance at the same time.”
