A fortnight of fun with Lark in the Park
00:00, 03 August 2007
SCHOOL'S out for summer and two weeks of fun, most of it free, is under way in Sidcup with Lark in the Park.
Activities kicked off on Sunday, July 29, at Sidcup Place, Chislehurst Road and end on August 10.
Lark in the Park was originally staged over a week in the summer of 1996 by the town's New Generation Church.
It was an extension of the youth work that the church was doing at the time and aimed to provide activities for youth during the long holiday break.
Now supported by members of more than 30 churches, the event has grown from a single gazebo in a corner of the green to dominate Sidcup Place for two weeks every summer.
It offers a variety of clubs, entertainment, workshops and events every afternoon and evening for all age groups and aims to enrich lives by developing relationships within the community.
This year promises to be the biggest and best yet, with a grand finale rounding off the event on August 12 at 7.30pm.
Above is a selection of pictures from the event.
