Aaron Steele is eyeing a drive in the Formula 2 Championship after enjoying a test debut in Barcelona last week.
Steele (pictured) blitzed the British F3 Cup this year to earn himself a test drive in an F2 car at the Catalan circuit in Spain.
The 22-year-old from Rochester, who won 14 races from 18 in the F3 Cup, was among a host of new and returning international drivers during the test session.
He turned in an encouraging display by running 11th fastest in the first session and showed consistent pace throughout.
In session three, he finished less than two seconds off the leader’s pace.
Steele said: "Overall it was a positive day and I’m happy with my pace.
"I would like to be racing in F2 next year and things are looking promising although I know this depends on budget, so we’ll have to see."
