Manager Andy Hessenthaler isn’t hitting the panic button just yet, despite Gillingham dropping two valuable points at the weekend.

A controversial refereeing decision denied the Gills victory at Bradford on Saturday – and the chance to close the gap on the League 2 play-off positions.

One more point in the bag, though, keeps them four points off the pace and Hessenthaler is not giving up on promotion with plenty of points still to play for.

"We still have to keep believing until it’s not a possibility," Hessenthaler said.

"We started the day in the same position as we are now. I know Crewe won, but Cheltenham and Oxford drew.

"We were four points away from them (Oxford) and we still are."

Oxford are holding on to the final play-off position and will meet the Gills on April 14.

The Gills, who are ninth in the table, do need wins and travel to face a demoralised Burton side on Tuesday. Their midweek hosts sit 17th in the table, having lost their last eight games. They were beaten 4-0 by AFC Wimbledon at the weekend.
